About Rolex Yacht Master
The Rolex Yacht-Master was first introduced in Baselworld 1992, designed for Navigators and Skippers. The first Yacht-Master 16628 was first introduced in yellow gold, designed as a more luxurious alternative to the Rolex Submariner, the Yacht-Master had smoother edges, larger hands and maxi hour markers.
Synonymous to the Rolex Yacht-Master will be it’s bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel designed for sailors to read time intervals.
In 1994, Rolex introduced a 35mm version of the Yacht-Master 69628 , catered to the Asian market. In 1999, Rolex introduced the 40mm stainless steel version Yacht-Master with a platinum bezel 16622.
This was succeeded by the Yacht-Master 116622 in 2002 and followed by the Yacht-Master 126622 in 2019, with a striking sunburst blue dial and slate dial, equipped with calibre 3235 and certified as a chronometer by Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
In 2007, the Yacht-Master II was introduced, with a larger case size of 44mm, unveiling a flyback regatta timer, allowing the wearer to choose the countdown interval by turning the bezel.
